A letter sent home to parents by the Marysville school district superintendent said a teacher is being investigated for an inappropriate relationship with a student.

According to Marysville police, at about 1:30 p.m. Thursday, officers were called to Marysville High School after receiving the report of the relationship between a female teacher and an 18-year-old student. Police said during an interview, the teacher said the relationship had been occurring for multiple months.

In the letter from Marysville Exempted Village School District Superintendent Diane Mankins, the teacher was escorted off the campus after being accused of the relationship.

The letter also stated the teacher was relieved of her duties and Marysville police and Children’s Services would be investigating.

The name of the teacher was not released, but police said she could face sexual battery charges.
