COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — We have arrived at what can only be described as the best day of the Paris Olympics.

Numerous marquee sports will be in action Saturday with finals in gymnastics, swimming, and track & field along with a plethora of medal matches across a variety of sports. Here is all you need to know for the action-packed Day 8 in store from France.

Gymnastics, track, and swimming all day

The three biggest sports that shine at the Olympics are all overlapping Saturday and will hand out medals to some of its biggest athletes. First at 10:20 a.m. on NBC4, Simone Biles looks for her third gold in Paris in the vault before an onslaught of major finals in track & field and swimming.

NBC4 will be showing back-and-forth coverage of both beginning at 1:10 p.m. with track. Sha’Carri Richardson headlines the night in the 100m final while Ryan Crouser and Joe Kovacs duel for shot put gold and the men’s decathlon winner is declared.

At 2:30 p.m., the penultimate night of swimming begins as Katie Ledecky aims to win her ninth Olympic gold in the 800m freestyle and the American team looks to take the mixed medley relay.

Medals galore

More than 25 medal events are taking place Saturday as well as marquee USA team games. Among Saturday’s notable finals outside the gym, track, and pool include the last four rowing finals, women’s singles and men’s doubles in tennis, men’s cycling road race, and hopefully the surfing finals after multiple delays.

Meanwhile, USA women’s soccer plays its quarterfinal against Japan and USA men’s basketball ends group play against Puerto Rico on NBC4 at 11:15 a.m.
