(NEXSTAR) – Jagger Eaton is a two-time world champion and a five-time X Games medalist who knows how to keep distractions to a minimum. He also knows how to stay ready.
“I don’t think there’s anything worse than getting in super cold water out of your warm bed at 6:30,” Jagger joked. “But it’s really helped me.”
Eaton is currently ranked No. 2 in men’s park and No. 12 in men’s street in the Olympic World Skate Rankings. He’s trying to qualify for both since he only competed in street at the Tokyo Games.
Jagger comes from Olympic lineage. His mother, Shelly Schaerer, was a member of the U.S. national gymnastics team during the 1980s and his late grandfather, Stormy, was a U.S. national gymnastics team coach and founded the Desert Devils Gymnastics gym in Mesa, AZ.
Jagger got his first skateboard as a Christmas gift at age 4 and would skate nearly every day with his older brother, Jet. Their father built them a mini ramp in the family garage where they learned new tricks.
