COLUMBUS (WCMH) — Some neighbors near the intersection of Henderson Road and Chevy Chase Court are pulling together to oppose the construction of an assisted-living facility at the corner.
A flyer passed out in the neighborhood encourages neighbors to attend the Columbus Development Commission meeting at 6pm Thursday in protest of plans to build a nursing home.

A real estate developer has asked the city to rezone 3.6 acres of land from residential to commercial. The applicant states that the facility would house up to 75 people.
Neighbors are concerned about traffic in the area if the facility is built and the impact the facility could have on their property values and way of life.
“They’re plopping a commercial building is what they want to do in a strictly residential area,” said Paula Brown. “It’s going to disturb everyone’s right to enjoy their property.”
“It’s a massive structure with, it’s going to bring a lot of trucks and traffic and we have a lot of traffic issues as it is here on Henderson Road,” said Mike Cleary. “Right where those accidents have happened is where this entrance is and again being a nursing facility there’s a lot of elderly coming and going so I’m a little worried about the safety.”Reporter Courtney Yuen is following this story and will have the latest coming up on NBC4 at 6.
