ROSCOMMON COUNTY, MI (WPBN) — More people than usual were being pulled over in Roscommon County, Michigan Tuesday.
The sheriff’s department and the Denton Township Police Department were out to meet their quota on Tuesday, but not for giving out tickets. Instead, they were giving out turkeys.
Most of the people were pulled over for going over the speed limit or having their license plates covered with snow.
“The reaction is priceless,” said Deputy Jeff Greiser of the Roscommon County Sheriff’s Department.
Shirley McCall was one of them. She was pleasantly surprised.
“It think it’s great,” McCall said. “That’s a nice surprise, especially for Christmas time,”
The turkeys were all donated by the Roscommon and the Houghton Lake Rotary Clubs. This was the second year that the departments worked together to do this.
