ELK GROVE, CA., (WCMH) — Police say the highway was shut down in Northern California when a tractor trailer carrying thousands of pounds of toilet paper and paper towels crashed Sunday.

It happened when the rig hydroplaned, crossed the center divide, hit a guardrail and overturned. 29,000 pounds of toilet paper and paper towels spilled onto the roadway.

KCRA reports 80 gallons of fuel also spilled. The clean-up took multiple agencies including hazmat.

There were three vehicles involved in the crash but there were no major injuries reported. One driver involved was arrested for an OVI but police say weather was the main cause for the crash.
