Columbus (WCMH) – Cool nights, warm days, lots of sun… and the colors are starting to accelerate across Ohio.

We are still about a week behind normal for leaf color changes, which means you still have plenty of time.According to the Fall Color Report from ODNR there are many state parks that are great spots to visiting… don’t your camera:

Central Ohio has many great spots to check out… with some peaking now!

Even spots a bit to the north and west are looking good for weekend viewing

In the northern part of the state… more parks than not are near peak now, some are still changing

In the southern part of the state, things typically change a bit later in October, and is the case in 2016

There are a couple of spots in the south that are near peak and you don’t want to wait too long

As I mentioned above, we are still running about a week or so behind the colors change for normal here in Ohio, below is the forecast for this year:

Normally, we should be seeing the peak leaf colors around this time in the Central part of the state, and next week in the Southern part:

There are good apps out there (not associated with NBC 4) like Leaf Peepr (Apple & Android), where you can find real time reports from users on leaf color changes.  From this app, you can also report and post pictures as well.  As with any user submitted apps, there may be some inconsistency, but it can be fun.
