MILWAUKEE, WI (WTMJ/WCMH) -Two Milwaukee police officers are recovering after they were rear-ended by a drunk driver, who is also a Milwaukee officer.

The two officers were stopped at a red light when 48-year-old Lisa Baake slammed into their car from behind. One of the officers in the squad car had to be taken to the hospital for treatment of a minor injury. The cruiser had moderate damage to the rear end.

48-year-old Lisa Baake, who was off duty at the time, is facing charges of operating while intoxicated. She has also been suspended from the force. The police haven’t released what Baake’s blood alcohol level was at the time of the incident.

Milwaukee Police said Baake “has been suspended from MPD” according to WTMJ. Baake is a 22-year veteran. This is her first OWI offense.
