- Jun 1.7
Rainfall/precipitation (vs. normal):

Summer 2016 (June 21st – Today):
Starting the first full day of Summer to the end of the month wasn’t a long time, but we had 3 fairly good rainfall dates in there that pretty much caught up the month as a whole. For the Summer part of June, we were way above normal for rainfall.
We started July off on a cool note, but overall it was close to normal on temperatures, but precipitation was quite dry, and in fact helped many locations in Central and Northern Ohio get classified as in a drought.
August helped that out, by bringing copious amounts of rainfall, in what typically is a drier month. That didn’t stop temps either, which stayed almost 4 degrees above normal, marking our 2nd warmest month this year when compared to normal.
September so far has started just slightly above normal for rainfall, and a couple of degrees above normal for temperature. I think we will keep the temps above normal, and the precipitation may end up just falling short of normal, unless we get a good downpour over the city mid-week.
Here are the charts for Summer 2016 temperatures and rainfall here in Columbus:

As of today, we are about 2.13 degrees above normal for Temperatures this summer, and about 3.4″ above normal for rainfall.
