TYBEE ISLAND, GA (WCMH) — A Georgia police department says vandals used a voodoo doll to leave a bizarre threat to officers.

“It appears to be a prefabricated voodoo doll, it looks like those are the feet and the head has been pulled off and lying next to it, and then a lizard that appears to be cut in half that we believe is an animal sacrifice,” Lt. Emory Randolph told WJCL.

The odd display was found in front of the Tybee Island Police Department last Friday. Police say they aren’t aware of any voodoo community on the island, but they are still searching for the suspects.

“I definitely think there is a pretty dark message involved – that somebody is trying to direct at the police department you know to have the head pulled off the doll it’s obviously not a sign of a friendly gesture,” says Randolph.

Police are looking at surveillance video to identify the person responsible, but say they aren’t sure if there will be any charges filed.
