SPRINGFIELD, OH (WDTN) – A Clark County couple is due in court on Thursday after authorities found their daughter in a marsh.

Thursday, Clark County Sheriff Gene Kelly held a press conference where he introduced Deputy Jolene Irons, who found the child. The Sheriff also played video from a body camera worn by Irons during the search.

The girl’s parents Brandi, 30, and Jorge, 47, Sise, both of South Vienna, reported her missing on Tuesday at 1 p.m. But, the child had not been seen since 9 a.m. Tuesday.

The girl was found around 4 p.m., nearly seven hours after she went missing, covered with scratches in a marsh area by Deputy Jolene Irons. The child was “crying while deep in a wooded area approximately a half mile from the mobile home where the child lived with her parents,” according to a press release from the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.

A Clark County Sheriff Deputy is being credited with saving the 4-year-old girl Tuesday. The sheriff’s office will release body cam video of the girl’s rescue at a press conference on Thursday.

The marsh where the girl was found is located near the Clark Lake Wilderness area east of Mahar Road near South Vienna. She was not wearing any shoes or socks and was wearing a very soiled diaper and t-shirt, according to the release.

She was transported to Springfield Regional Medical Center for her injuries. She is expected to recover.

The Clark County Department of Child and Family Services was notified of the missing child and her condition, according to the release. “The inspection of the home of the child found that the home was in horrible condition.”  The child is now in protective custody. Both parents have been charged with one count of child endangering – both first-degree misdemeanors.

The parents were both arrested and are scheduled to appear at 10:30 a.m in Springfield Municipal Court Thursday. Clark County Sheriff Gene Kelly will hold a press conference Wednesday where he will release body camera video from the search and recovery of the child.
