COLUMBUS (WCMH) — The NFL says it is reviewing domestic violence allegations against Dallas Cowboys rookie Ezekiel Elliott.

According to a police report, a woman claiming to be Elliott’s girlfriend called police to the 1800 block of Canvas Lane at North High Street. The woman claimed Elliott, who turned 21 overnight, was her former live-in boyfriend. She then told officers he assaulted her in the driver’s seat of her car, leaving bruises on her arms.

The woman, who identified her occupation as a sex slave, denied any medical treatment. Officers took photos of the woman’s injuries and took her statement, the police report states.

The report says officers questioned Ezekiel at the scene. He told officers he did not touch the victim in a harmful manner, telling officers the woman’s injuries were instead from a bar fight she was in. He also told officers that he and the woman did not live together.

The player’s father, Stacy Elliott, said in a statement Friday that the claims are “completely false” and that his son has cooperated with the investigation.

The reported allegations and Internet postings regarding our son are completely false. Ezekiel has done nothing wrong. The police have investigated this matter and eyewitnesses have verified the lack of any wrongdoing. The actual evidence in this matter clearly indicates what the real motivation was behind the police being called. We are confident that when the truth comes to light it will reveal the falsity of these claims. Ezekiel has been fully cooperative with the police and will continue to do so-along with cooperating with the NFL-moving forward.”

Columbus police said they did not arrest or charge Elliott due to conflicting statements from the victim and witnesses, the report states. The victim was then referred to the prosecutor’s office.

Elliott was selected by the Cowboys with the fourth overall pick in the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft out of Ohio State University. He turned 21 Friday.

NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy says the allegations will be reviewed under the league’s personal conduct policy.
