COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) – For those wanting to experience the rich flavors of Italy without leaving Columbus, a list of the top-rated eateries in the area according to Yelp highlights some of most beloved local Italian restaurants.

Taking the number one spot is Piazza Pelino, located at 772 N. High St. in the Short North. The eatery is known for its house made focaccia and gelato. Reviews highlight Pizza Pelino’s “fresh” ingredients and fun atmosphere, featuring a ceiling lined with colorful umbrellas. 

Coming in second place is Cento, located at 595 S. Third St. in German Village. The restaurant serves pasta, meat dishes, desserts and a variety of wines. Reviews praise Cento for its “outstanding” service, elegant ambience and extensive wine list. 

The third highest-rated Italian restaurant is Novella, located at 170 W. Olentangy St. in Powell. Along with pasta and meat dishes, the restaurant desserts, wine, beer and cocktails.

“Absolutely stellar, elevated Italian dining,” One Yelp-user wrote. “The service was tremendous and the interior is gorgeous!”

In fourth place is La Tavola, located at 1664 W. First Ave. in Grandview Heights. The eatery serves pizza, pasta and meat dishes, along with desserts such as cannolis and tiramisu. Reviews praise the restaurant’s “homemade” and “authentic” Italian cuisine. 

Taking fifth place is Lola and Giuseppe’s Trattoria, located at 100 Granville St. in Gahanna. The restaurant offers soups, salads, pasta, meat entrees and vegetarian options such as eggplant parmesan. The eatery also serves dessert, wine and beer. 

“All around incredible,” one review reads. “Family owned, delicious taste and impeccable quality in food.”

The sixth highest-rated Italian eatery is Pasqualone’s Ristorante, located at 5766 Emporium Square in the Northern Woods neighborhood. The restaurant serves a variety of pasta and meat entrees, along with appetizers such as escargot and dessert. Reviews rave about the restaurant’s lasagna and high-quality service.

Coming in seventh place is Bistrolino, located at 495 S. Fourth St. in German Village. Bistrolino serves a variety of appetizers, pizzas, flatbreads, oven-baked dishes and wine. Reviews praise the restaurant’s high quality ingredients and cozy ambience. 

In eighth place is Basi Italia, located at 811 Highland St. in the Victorian Village neighborhood. The eatery offers wine, pizza, meat entrees, pasta and dessert. Reviews describe the restaurant as “quaint” and the food as “rich” and “delicious.”

Coming in ninth place is Gallo’s Kitchen and Bar, located at 2820 Nottingham Road in Upper Arlington. The restaurant’s menu includes pasta, soup, salad, jambalaya, meat dishes, sandwiches and cocktails.
