CHILLICOTHE, Ohio (WCMH) – A two car crash in Chillicothe Wednesday evening has claimed the life of a Pike County man.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, deputies responded to a two-car crash on U.S. 23 South in Ross County while approaching Chillicothe from the north. There, deputies said a 27-year-old man from Stockton California veered his 2020 Volvo commercial vehicle into a 2012 Ford Escape while attempting an improper lane change.
The driver of the Ford Escape, 54-year-old Randal Benner, of Waverly, drove off the right side of the road. Benner was taken to Adena Regional Medical Center but was pronounced dead a short time later.
The OSHP did not release the medical condition of the other driver involved, though the crash remains under investigation. Currently there are no charges filed.
