COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — Soccer season in Columbus is almost here with the reigning MLS Cup champion Crew ready to sport a fresh gold kit for 2024.

The club unveiled “The Home Kit” on Friday that the club will wear for the 2024 and 2025 seasons. The traditional gold base with black stripes includes a black center line behind the Nationwide logo that has an angular design.

“The Home Kit’s design is inspired by the bold, angular architecture of the Black & Gold’s Fortress Lower.com Field and the buildings in the neighborhood that surround their Home – Astor Park,” wrote the club in a statement.

Two key additions to the new gold kit and the 2023-released black kit will have fans brimming with pride as the crest now has its third star, representing the Crew’s 2023 MLS Cup victory at Lower.com Field over Los Angeles FC. The third star will remain larger and centered above the other two for just this season.

Additionally, each Crew jersey will have the MLS Cup champions patch, which remains on the jersey throughout 2024. Fans and the club though will hope to keep that patch and add another star after this upcoming season.

The Black & Gold begin its MLS season on Feb. 24 when they host Atlanta United at 2 p.m. from Lower.com Field. The Crew will sport the new home kit as they begin its busiest season in club history.
