COLUMBUS (WCMH) – Gas prices in Columbus are falling back below $2 per gallon in some spots.

As of 6:30 this morning, Columbus Gas Buddy reported a Marathon station at Morse Road and Appian Way with gas at $1.87 per gallon.

Several other gas stations in northeast Columbus are reporting similar prices.

On Monday, a gallon of gas in Ohio averaged $2.20, according to a AAA survey. The national average was reported at $2.27.

This time last year, the average price in Ohio was $2.72.

Demand for gasoline is high for the summer driving season, but motorists continue to see savings at the pump. That is partly due to crude oil remaining relatively less expensive than in recent years.What others are clicking on:
