COLUMBUS (WCMH) – Nine-year-old Isaac Ohde might be having the best week of his life.

Monday he got to meet his hero, WWE Superstar John Cena, and Wednesday he got to meet NASCAR Champion Tony Stewart.

The Jackson Intermediate 4th grader is a two-year acute myeloid leukemia survivor, but he also deals with a chronic kidney disease and a blood disease known as Evans Syndrome.

Monday he carried a sign that said ‘I am a pediatric cancer survivor.’ Cena spotted him in the crowd and brought him up in the ring for a huge round of cheers.

“I always preach the motto ‘Never Give Up’, it’s one thing to talk about it, but it’s another thing to do it,” Cena said with Isaac by his side.

Isaac Ohde talks with NASCAR legend Tony Stewart.

Wednesday, he met Tony Stewart when the NASCAR legend helped celebrate the grand opening of the new Ruch Truck Centers service facility. Isaac’s uncle works for the company and was able to wrangle a special invitation to the VIP-only event.

“It’s neat, because it’s neat for me that he was excited about seeing us,” says Stewart. “When you get somewhere and you get a chance to meet a guy like him it makes you warm and fuzzy.”

Isaac’s taking it all in stride.

“It’s pretty cool,” he says.

But for his mom, who has almost lost him three times, every minute counts. The bone marrow transplant he had two years ago is holding the leukemia at bay, but they don’t know yet if it will be a permanent cure.

“I’m trying to make as many memories as I can,” says Beth Ohde.

Isaac’s amazing summer isn’t over yet. He might be traveling to Kentucky this weekend to watch Stewart race and maybe even join him for a trip to Cedar Point. What others are clicking on:
