COLUMBUS (WCMH) – There aren’t any sobriety checkpoints planned around Central Ohio for the Independence Day weekend, but that doesn’t mean police aren’t looking for drunk drivers.
The Franklin County DUI Task Force says they will be operating saturation patrols throughout Franklin County beginning today. The patrols will run through the entire holiday weekend.
The task force says there have been 57 fatal crashes so far this year in Ohio compared to this time last year. The current total stands at 429, compared to 486 last year.
No specific locations have been given for the areas being targeted by the saturation patrols.
