WEST LAFAYETTE, OH (WCMH) – When Cody Croy and his dad went to Wednesday’s Cleveland Cavaliers Victory Parade they never knew the nine year old would get so up close and personal with one of his heroes.

The Ridgewood Elementary third grader has Spina Bifida and uses walking crutches. When Cavs starting guard JR Smith saw Cody on the parade route he leaned down off the flatbed truck and hoisted him high in the air.

“A police officer raises me up to him,” Cody said. “He asked me my name…I said my name and that he had a lot of tattoos.”

That’s huge for Cody! He’s a major Cavs fan (although we’re told the Browns and Ohio State Football rank pretty high, too). His room is decorated in Cavaliers gear and he’s even the manager for his twin brother’s little league team.

Cody’s mom, Wendy Croy,  says the experience has been compared to Simba being lifted in The Lion King.What others are clicking on:
