COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) – There is some great progress and a new addition to the Mid-Ohio Farm at NBC4 located behind our studios.
This week, volunteers are building a new retaining wall around the farm’s new herb garden, and we’re entering our first season of full-time production, expecting to harvest 480 heads of lettuce each week.
And now, we’re providing a little extra flavor for that produce by introducing a wide variety of herbs.
“You’re going to see all the lovely smells and tastes of the foods that you would think of from our community and from the community of the folks that live around here, so you’re going to have your lavenders, your mints, your parsleys, your thymes, sage, rosemary, all the things,” Allison Davis, farm manager for Mid-Ohio Food Collective, said. “You want to give everybody a real taste and smell experience when they come into there so they can just wander on in, read about the different herbs and then experience them.”
