COLUMBUS (WCMH) — Alberto Hernandez, 55, who was found guilty of raping two young girls as his girlfriend stood by, was sentenced Tuesday morning.

Hernandez was given life without parole and an additional 11 years to be served consecutively.

The Franklin County Prosecutor’s Office said on Friday a jury found Hernandez guilty of four counts of rape for the assaults on the girls who were aged 8 and 13 at the time.

Hernandez’s girlfriend, the mother of the victims, is accused of participating in the attacks.

NBC4 is not identifying the woman to protect the identity of the girls.

As part of her plea, she will be required to register every 90 days for life as a Tier III sex offender.  Both the defense and prosecution have made a joint recommendation of the mother serving 10 years in prison when she is sentenced on June 9.Keep checking NBC4i.com for real-time updates on this story.
