COLUMBUS (WCMH) — One person is dead after a three-vehicle crash on Interstate 71 southbound. Another is in extremely critical condition.

Columbus police said the driver of a minivan was traveling north in the southbound lanes of I-71 near I-670, lost control of his vehicle, and struck the concrete wall on the left side of the roadway. The driver then went into the northbound lanes of I-71 and struck a semi head-on.

The minivan then struck an SUV. Raymond Williams, the driver of the minivan, was killed.

The passenger in the minivan was critically injured. The SUV driver was taken Grant Medical Center with minor injuries. The semi driver was uninjured.

Police say there were other crashes in the area, but there were only three vehicles involved in the main incident.What others are clicking on:
