COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — Three people were hospitalized during two separate Columbus shootings Monday night.
The first shooting occurred at around 7:15 p.m. in South Franklinton where officers were called to the 700 block of Canonby Place at the Southpark Apartments. Police said that there were no gunshot victims at the scene, which included approximately 100 people holding a candlelight vigil.
Witnesses told police that a fight broke out and several people pulled out guns. Approximately 30 minutes later, officers were called to the Ohio State Wexner Medical Center on reports of a woman who walked in with a gunshot wound. She is listed in serious condition.
At about 10:26 p.m., Columbus police responded to reports of a fight in progress in the 800 block of Studer Avenue in the Driving Park neighborhood. While in route to the location, officers were advised shots were fired.
Upon arrival two people were found suffering from gunshot wounds. One victim was taken to Grant Medical Center in stable condition. The other victim, a juvenile, was hospitalized and is in critical condition. Both are expected to survive their injuries
Police are searching for a black SUV that reportedly left the scene and are canvasing the neighborhood for any ring-camera or security footage.
