COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — Ahead of Friday night’s NHL Draft in Las Vegas, Columbus made a trade move by sending Alexandre Texier to the St. Louis Blues for a future fourth-round draft pick, the team announced Friday.
The Blue Jackets center was a second round draft pick in 2017 and played 201 games for Columbus over the span of five seasons, making his NHL debut in April 2019. This past year, Texier scored 12 goals and 18 assists in 78 games played.
Columbus has six picks in this year’s NHL draft, starting with the fourth overall pick.
The draft begins with the first round at 7 p.m. at the Sphere with rounds 2-7 taking place Saturday beginning at 11:30 a.m.
