COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — One of the top French restaurants in Columbus is toasting freedom with a Bastille Day Tasting Menu.
The Refectory announced that from Wednesday to Saturday it will serve a four-course prix fixe, offering for diners who want to “celebrate like the French.”
“This special tasting menu will showcase the best of French cuisine, a perfect way to celebrate the spirit of independence,” the restaurant said in an email.

The menu includes the following courses, all named after figures in the French Revolution:
Assiette Louis XVI
• Duet shrimp and smoked salmon terrine and French country terrine, saffron and champagne remoulade
Assisette General Lafayette
• Beef Bourguignon casserole, fresh basil linguini
Assiette Danton
• Baked brie in puff pastry, petite arugula salad, maple syrup vinaigrette
Assiette Robespierre
• The Three Musketeers dessert trio, dark chocolate mousse, vanilla crème brûlée, cherry clafoutis
The cost is $98 per person. The restaurant notes on its website that its dining room menu will also be available to clients.
The establishment is located at 1092 Bethel Rd. in a 19th-century church and schoolhouse.
Reservations are available Wednesday through Thursday from 5:15 to 8:30 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 4:45 to 9 p.m.
The Refectory has received numerous accolades, including Best French Restaurant in Columbus from Travelregrets.com and AAA’s 4 Diamond award for 28 years in a row.
Bastille Day is observed on July 14 each year. The day marks the anniversary of the storming of the Bastille, an armory and prison in Paris. It is a national holiday in France.
