GRANVILLE, Ohio (WCMH)–Lead in the water at Granville Village Schools has surprised parents in this picturesque village.

Fifteen parts per billion is the EPA’s cutoff for lead. Anything above that is too dangerous to drink.

One drinking fountain at Granville Elementary School tested at 123 parts per billion, and a drinking fountain at the high school came back with a whopping 540 parts per billion.

All fountains are now shut off at all the schools, and bottled water is being brought in.

And next week, any student or staff member at any of the schools can get free screenings to see if lead is in their blood.

The Licking County Health Department is offering the screenings Thursday at the high school.What others are clicking on:
