COLUMBUS (WCMH) — Fallout continues to grow from NBC4’s investigation, “Danger in the Drinking Water,” where lead investigative reporter Duane Pohlman discovered dangerous levels of lead in the water at a drinking fountain at the statehouse.
Today, Ohio Speaker of the House of Representatives Cliff Rosenberger told Pohlman that he is now demanding water tests at two major state office buildings across from the statehouse.
“Based on your all’s findings, you walked around here at the statehouse, we have some concern,” Speaker Rosenberger said, confirming he has demanded testing the water for lead at the Rhodes Tower and the Riffe Center.

The Speaker says the tests will happen in addition to the 22 water tests that are currently underway of drinking fountains and taps that were triggered by our investigation.
While no one knows how serious the lead threat is, Speaker Rosenberger says he believes it is isolated.
“I don’t think this is a widespread problem. I think it’s an isolated issue,” Rosenberger said, adding, “We should zero in on it, but we should also at the same time have due diligence and make sure we’re checking everything else.”What others are clicking on:
