BEAUMONT, TX (WFLA) – A Texas high school math teacher is facing charges after cell phone video captures her beating a student in her classroom, KFDM reported.
Mary A. Hastings,63, is on paid administrative leave from her teaching job at Ozen High School.
The video, reportedly captured Friday by another student in the classroom, shows Hastings repeatedly beating the student in his head. She can be seen hitting the student five times while saying “because you’re stopping him from graduating you idiot [expletive].”
“The teacher was immediately removed from the classroom and placed on administrative leave pending action on her contract,” stated a press release from the Beaumont Independent School District.
