CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (WFLA) – A Charlottesville, Virginia woman is sharing her journey of losing 130 pounds and reversing diabetes. Now, she’s being featured in a medical magazine.
Every day is about getting up and moving for fitness instructor Myra Anderson.
“I’ve been so motivated by my own fitness that I completely a couple months ago shifted careers and started to work in a fitness business,” Anderson told WCAV-TV.
It’s a stark change from what life used to be for her. Doctors had suggested Anderson go through weight loss surgery. The weight was even impacting her health. She was diagnosed with diabetes and high cholesterol and was on medication, but she never went through with the surgery.
Instead, Anderson decided to exercise daily and lost a whopping 130 pounds on her own. Now, it’s landing her national attention.
“There is a magazine its called Diabetes Forecast, it’s a national medical magazine and I’m going to be featured in that because I actually reversed my diabetes, I no longer have to take medication for any diabetes or cholesterol,” she said.
These days she’s looking to inspire others.
“I feel like I can also encourage other people who’ve been in that same situation that just because you have that diagnosis that doesn’t mean it’s the end.”
She’s turned fitness into a business teaching group anywhere she can go – changing lives one day at a time.
“If I can do it, so can you,” Anderson remarked. What others are clicking on:
