NEW YORK (NBC News) — The days of storing those memories in paper scrapbooks and Albums are getting shelved in favor of digital documentation.

Just take Eight-year-old Adelle for example. She’s already one savvy selfie taker. Adelle’s mom, Sarah, shares many of her daughter’s life moments online and she’s not alone. About 92 percent of kids have an online presence by their second birthday.

“We’ve never seen a generation of parents that have so publicly talked about their children and gone through all of the milestones of their children’s lives,” says PEW Research Center researcher Lee Rainie.

Unfortunately, some go too far.

“There are some people who are turned off by learning too much information about the little darlings in other people’s lives,” Rainie explains.

It could also pose security concerns if that knowledge or those photos get into the wrong hands.

When it comes to deciding how much to share, Weekend TODAY anchor Sheinelle Jones thinks about the moment when her kids will be going for a job interview in 20 years. She asks herself: Do I want this picture out there? Jones considers medical information off limits, too.Read more: http://on.today.com/1S7Vb1UWhat others are clicking on:
