FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP (WCMH) — The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a vehicle that struck a 15-year-old cyclist on U.S. 62 north of Ransburg Avenue late Saturday night.
The sheriff’s office said William Scarberry was riding a bicycle southbound on U.S. 62 when an unknown vehicle struck him from behind then left the scene. The impact knocked Scarberry into the northbound lane where he was struck by two more vehicles, a Honda CR-V and a Nissan Altima.
Scarberry was pronounced dead on the scene.
The sheriff’s office does not have a description of the first vehicle, but says it will likely have front-end damage possibly on the hood.
The drivers of the Honda and Nissan are cooperating with the investigation.
