COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — The Columbus Metropolitan Library is helping bibliophiles add to their collections while doing good for the community.
The nonprofit Friends of the Library is holding the first of its biannual Big Book Sales. According to a media advisory from the library, the event will sell books and other library materials that were once lent to readers. The items sold will get another chance to be cherished and the money from the sale will go to library programs and services and help fund future campaigns for library levies, the group noted.
The sale will last four days. Friends of the Library organization members will get early access on the first day and receive 10% off their purchases. On the final day of the fundraiser, shoppers can bring a bag to fill for $5. Canvas totes emblazoned with the Friends of the Library logo will be available for $8.50. All sale transactions are limited to $400 per household or membership.
The sale will be held at the main Columbus Metropolitan Library, 96 S. Grant Ave., in the auditorium.
