FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Ohio (WCMH) – The Ohio Department of Natural Resources has been called into investigate after a black bear was killed by a vehicle in Fairfield County Wednesday morning.

According to the Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office, the bear was hit by an unknown vehicle near Tarkiln Road on the U.S. 33 bypass, south of Lancaster.

Deputies said the bear was about 2-years-old and weighed about 100 pounds.

Deputies continue to investigate and the ODNR has been called in to help.
