CORPUS CHRISTI, TX (WCMH) — Dash cam video shows the moment a Texas police officer pulled a man to safety following a fiery car crash.
Police say the driver crashed his SUV on a turn ramp. Officer Jon McGinley was on scene minutes after the crash and noticed the car was on fire.
Video shows McGinley rush to the passenger side of the vehicle. He then uses his baton to get inside.
“Come on man, get out of the car,” you hear the officer tell the disoriented driver. “Your truck’s on fire… get out!”
Several other drivers are seen running up to the vehicle to help the officer. Together, they pull the 29-year-old driver to safety seconds before fire overtook the vehicle.
Police say the victim was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
