ROSS COUNTY (WCMH) — Two people are dead after a head-on collision involving two vehicles closed a highway for hours Saturday afternoon.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol responded to the deadly crash that happened near Rozelle Road, south of Chillicothe, at about 12:12 pm Saturday.

A Ford Escort driven by Jessica Maynard, 25, of Beaver, was heading northbound on U.S. 23 when the vehicle crossed the median. It struck a Chevrolet HHR, driven by 37-year-old Crystal Biller of Galloway, that was heading southbound. Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene.

Biller’s two sons, ages 19 and 14, were flown to Nationwide Children’s Hospital for treatment. Their conditions are unknown.

The road was closed for more than three hours as medics and crash investigators worked at the scene. The crash remains under investigation.Keep checking NBC4i.com for real-time updates on this story.
