COLUMBUS (WCMH) — Thousands of Ohio State University students are gathered at the Ohio Union to dance more than 24 hours straight for a good cause.

It’s all part of Buckeyethon 2016, an event that raises money for kids with cancer being treated by Nationwide Children’s Hospital.

It is the largest student run philanthropy in the state of Ohio.

Each student has to raise a minimum of $250 in order to participate.

Last year the event raised more than $1.2 million.

Around 5,000 students participated in Buckeython 2016.
