MIAMI (NBC Miami)–A 99-year-old woman woke up to find an exotic animal on her chest, NBC Miami reports.
No one knows how the kinkajou, an animal usually found in the rainforests of South and Central America, ended up in the woman’s home.
A veterinarian is taking care of it at the South Dade Avian and Exotic Animal Medical Center.
The kinkajou is named Banana.
It will reportedly be reunited with its owner Wednesday. There is no word on who owns Banana, or how it got loose.
Kinkajous typically spend most of their time in trees and often hang from their tails. They have the ability to turn their feet backwards so they can run easily in either direction, along branches or up tree trunks. According to National Geographic, they are sometimes called “honey bears” because they raid bees’ nests by slurping honey from the hive.
