COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH)–Police have released the names of three people involved in a fatal accident Wednesday night on Olentangy River Road.

Columbus Police say a woman was northbound on Olentangy River Road in a Volkswagen, turning into the driveway of the McConnell Heart Health Center at 3773 Olentangy River Road.  A Columbus man was traveling southbound on Olentangy River Road in a Mercedes-Benz.

The two vehicles collided and the Mercedes-Benz hit an embankment, forcing the vehicle to roll over.  The passenger of the Mercedes-Benz, Lisa Forgatsch, 50, of Columbus, was ejected from the vehicle and suffered severe injuries.

Forgatsch was transported to Riverside Methodist Hospital where she was later pronounced dead from her injuries. The Mercedes driver was also taken to Riverside. The Volkswagen driver was not transported to the hospital and was treated at the scene.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation and it is not known if weather was a contributing factor to this crash.

This is the city’s third traffic fatality of 2016, police say.
