Emergency crews in south Columbus have canceled their search for a bicyclist who was thought to be in the water after a hit-skip crash, after he returned to the scene to get his back.
It happened around 10:11am near the intersection of London Groveport Road and Parsons Avenue. According to the Columbus Division of Fire, witnesses thought they saw a man on a bicycle get hit by a semi-truck, sending the bicyclist into the water.
First responders searched Big Walnut Creek for several hours looking for the bicyclist.
However, shortly after 12pm, a man in a truck returned to the scene telling firefighters his bike had fallen out of the back of his truck and he was there to pick it up.
It was determined that no one had fallen into the water and no one was injured in a hit-skip crash.
Rescue crews exited the water and the search was canceled.
