The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a motorcycle crash that left a Powell man dead.

The crash happened around 6:26pm Sunday on Gardner Road, north of Reibel Road in Pleasant Township. According to the sheriff’s office, Venkata P. Kondabala, 20, was riding a 2006 ZX600-P Ninja motorcycle south on Gardner Road when the motorcycle went off the right side of the road and struck a ditch. Kondabala was ejected from the motorcycle.

Kondabala was transported to Doctor’s West Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The sheriff’s office said Kondabala was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. The crash remains under investigation.
