Man pleads guilty to making social media threat which caused Grove City lockdown

Hunter Borror, 18 at the time of his arrest, pleaded guilty to one misdemeanor count of inducing panic in relation to a social media threat made over Snapchat that caused a lockdown of Grove City schools in May 2019.

COLUMBUS (WCMH) — A man charged with making a social media threat, causing several Grove City schools to go into lockdown, has been sentenced to probation.

According to court documents, Hunter Borror, 18 at the time of his arrest, pleaded guilty to one misdemeanor count of inducing panic, which had been reduced from the original felony charge of inducing panic.

Borror was sentenced to 180 days, with the sentence suspended. He will be the subject of community control (probation) for 12 months and must complete 100 hours of community service.

According to court documents, a message was posted on Snapchat on May 21 of this year. The message, attributed to Borror by authorities, said someone was going to “shoot up all of Grove City.”

In addition to community control and community service, Borror must undergo a mental health assessment and follow up with treatment. Also, he is not to post on social media, cannot possess a weapon, and must stay away from all schools in Southwestern school district.
