
David joined the NBC4 sports team in January 2024. A New York City-native, David spent 10 years in Virginia, most recently at WFXR-TV in Roanoke, where he focused on college sports, covering Virginia Tech, Virginia and Liberty. He’s covered major sporting events, including Virginia Tech’s run to the Women’s Final Four in 2023 and an ACC tournament title by the Hokies men’s basketball team in 2022.
Before Roanoke, David served as the sports director at WHSV-TV in Harrisonburg, Virginia, where he won Associated Press awards for Best Sports Feature (2017), Best Sports Anchor (2014) and Outstanding Sports Operation of the Virginias (2014, 2017).
David began his on-air career in Wausau, Wisconsin. He earned his bachelor’s degree in broadcast and digital journalism from the S.I. Newhouse School at Syracuse University.
He’s also an Olympics-enthusiast and has attended and/or worked the Olympics in Rio, Sochi and London.
Outside the newsroom, David enjoys cooking, working out and exploring new places. He has a passion for storytelling and going beyond the boxscore, so please let him know your story ideas.
