Jennifer joined NBC4 in October 2014. She started as a News Producer, became Traffic Anchor, Weekend Evening Anchor and is now a Weekday Afternoon Anchor.
A native of the Buckeye State, born and raised in Zanesville, Jennifer graduated from the prestigious E.W. Scripps School of Journalism at Ohio University in Athens, where she received her bachelor’s degree in Broadcast News, as well as specializations in Spanish and Geography. Go Bobcats! But, she cheers for the Buckeyes, too!
Before coming to NBC4, Jennifer worked as a Reporter, News Producer and Anchor at WHIZ-TV in her hometown.
Jennifer’s favorite part about working in television is using her platform to advocate for others and bring attention to causes close to her. After her mother survived a heart attack in 2019, and as a survivor herself, Jennifer began working closely with the Central Ohio Chapter of the American Heart Association as a champion for heart health. You’ve probably seen her at many of the AHA events around Columbus!
She is also a fierce advocate for fetal and maternal health and support. In October 2021, Jennifer’s third child, Miles Owen, was stillborn. The unexpected loss was devastating. In 2023, Jennifer’s family found purpose in their pain and established Miles’ Mission — a nonprofit organization with a mission to enhance awareness, provide resources, and support families experiencing pregnancy and infant loss across the country. Jennifer serves as the organization’s Vice President. She is also a Board Member for CelebrateOne — again, working to address and reduce infant mortality, and create a brighter future for families in Columbus and Franklin County.
Jennifer’s drive to make a difference comes from her love for her home state, and her family — her husband, Gerald, and ALL of their children, Noah, Harper, and their angel, Miles. She’s also an active member of her family’s church in Zanesville, Hands of Faith, helping out in the Toddler Room. When she isn’t working, teaching Sunday School, or at an event, Jennifer is most likely hanging out with her family, taking a nap, thrift shopping, eating tacos, or enjoying an iced coffee!
