Samantha Bender joined the NBC4 team in August 2024 as a general assignment reporter.
Samantha is a Bristol, Connecticut, native and graduated from the Honors Program at Central Connecticut State University Magna Cum Laude with a major in journalism and a minor in marketing.
Before joining NBC4, Samantha was a multimedia journalist and anchor at our sister stations, WKBN/WYTV, a CBS, Fox and ABC affiliate in Youngstown. There, she covered several stories that made national headlines, including the East Palestine train derailment and the downtown Youngstown building explosion. She also won a first place award from the Connecticut Society of Professional Journalists for her COVID-19 reporting.
Away from the station, Samantha loves to find a good adventure. She has been skydiving twice and is itching to go again. She also enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling and spending time outdoors.
