COLUMBUS (WCMH) — Thousands of dogs and cats found forever homes on Saturday as NBCUniversal’s Clear the Shelters initiative prompted prospective pet owners to adopt four-legged friends across the nation.
NBC4 teamed up with the Capital Area Humane Society, Ohio SPCA & Humane Society, Fayette Humane Society, Franklin County Dog Shelter & Adoption Center and Colony Cats and Dogs to help 190 animals be adopted in the central Ohio area.
As of 7:10pm Saturday, more than 41,000 pets were adopted across the nation in the all-day pet adoption drive.
