COLUMBUS (WCMH) — Angela Beltz served 21 years in the Ohio National Guard.

She served in Desert Storm, securing clean water for the U.S Military while scud missiles flew overhead.

“We were one of the only units, I believe the only unit to actually run a hose line, ah because it’s pretty difficult to secure those, so you’d have to have someone patrolling it 24/7, because someone could contaminate your water.” Beltz said.

During Beltz’ military career, she served in the Gulf War.

“A lot of people think the Gulf War, they don’t consider our war a war, because it was so short. People are like ‘oh man, come on, like how many days were you guys really (there).’” Beltz is proud of her service in the Gulf.

She is proud of the time she spent serving her country.

“I was raised to work hard and that’s just an ethic I’ve, that I really really am proud of. I did what not a lot of people do.”
