COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — On Wednesday night, the charity Miles’ Mission hosted its annual Night of Champions to recognize groups making a difference in the lives of Ohio families dealing with pregnancy and infant loss.
Miles’ Mission was formed by NBC4 anchor Jennifer Bullock and her family after her son Miles was stillborn three years ago.
The group’s goal is to increase awareness and promote quality aftercare for families going through heartbreak.
During the event, a representative from the governor’s office read a proclamation marking Wednesday as Stillborn Prevention Day.
There are an average of 8232 stillbirths in Ohio each year.
In the 17 months since it was founded, Miles’ Mission has helped 400 families in 15 states. For more on the charity, click here.
