COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — NBC4 is being recognized for its work with five regional Emmy Award nominations in five categories, as announced by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, Ohio Valley Chapter.

“I continue to be proud of the work of every single member of this team every single day — but it’s always nice to be highlighted during awards season,” said NBC4 News Director Denise Eck.

Two of NBC4’s recurring specials were acknowledged. “The Conversation,” a periodic series that examines racial inequalities in central Ohio was selected for the Diversity/Equity/Inclusion grouping, and “A Journey Through Alzheimer’s,” an annual broadcast that brings viewers important in-depth information on Alzheimer’s disease was chosen for Health/Medical – Short or Long Form Content.

Additional NBC4 received nods in Breaking News for coverage of a November 2023 bus crash on I-70, Arts/Entertainment – News for the digital special “Art Activism Action” and NBC4 anchor Jerod Smalley was noticed in the Program Host/Moderator/Correspondent category. Viewers can watch Jerod Smalley on weekdays during First at Four and NBC4 at 5.
