COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — NBC4 Today traffic anchor Kristine Varkony is sharing a heartwarming update after celebrating her first Mother’s Day at home with new baby Mickey.

Kristine and her husband, Michael, welcomed their first child, Michael II, lovingly called Mickey, earlier than expected in January. The couple had to wait months to bring Mickey home from the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at the hospital. Kristine returned to work in March until Mickey was released from the NICU in April, when she began the second part of her maternity leave to be home with him.

The new family is settling in and soaking up every moment of this new chapter. Kristine recently caught up with Monica Day over Zoom and shared how special her first Mother’s Day felt.

We are happy to report that everyone is doing well, and NBC4 is looking forward to having Kristine back on air later this spring.
