COLUMBUS (WCMH) – Mayor Michael Coleman performed his first same-sex weddings as mayor of Columbus during an event Saturday afternoon.
Mayor Michael Coleman officiated the weddings of 13 same-sex couples during a noon ceremony at Columbus City Hall.
Couples were asked to submit their love stories to the mayor’s office and Stonewall Columbus in order to be selected as one of the couples married by Coleman.
The event, Vowed & Proud, was organized in conjunction with the City of Columbus and Stonewall Columbus.
